Becky's Biography:
Becky Jago was born on 20th April 1976 in Suffolk.
After graduated from Bedfordshire University
she spent some time in Japan, where she worked in a public bar.
Jago started her media career at Vibe FM radio station (now known as
Kiss 105-108), working her way up to become the co-presenter on the breakfast show as well as reading the travel news, doing the film reviews and gigging at clubs at night! After appearing in a television documentary about body piercing, she was spotted by producers of
Anglia News who hired her as their weather girl. She also was the original ‘booth girl’ on
The Wright Stuff (which was filmed at the Anglia studios in those days) where she would introduce phone-in contributors.
In November 2001, she joined the BBC’s children's news programme Newsround. She was the main studio presenter but also reported from as far
far away as France, West Africa and Morocco.
Jago joined Capital Radio in February 2003 to be Chris Tarrant’s side-kick on the breakfast show. She stayed with new host Johnny
Vaughan after Tarrant left in 2004, but left Capital Radio
in December 2004. She then had stints as a reporter on GMTV’s Entertainment Today programme, and
Sky Sport’s News before returning to
Anglia News in May 2005 as a feature reporter and presenter. She had just over a year off to have her twin boys in 2006. Since February 2009, Jago is one of two main presenters of
Anglia Tonight.
